Fifty-six students graduated with their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees during Commencement exercises on August 19, 2024, at the Cannon Center for the Performing Arts.
Eleven graduates earned the Rural and Underserved Nurse distinction. These students completed eight credentials in addition to their BSN program of study. Categories included critical thinking, social determinants of health, and health literacy. The students can earn a maximum of $5,000 upon completion of the program. Four students also received awards during commencement. Shelby Ellis won the Alumni Award; Joseph Atkins received the BSN Class Award; Ashley Austria earned the Faculty Award; and Jayda Farris received the Sigma Theta Tau Leadership Award.
