Dr. Lee received her PhD from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2009. She recently became dean of the Mary Black School of Nursing at the University of South Carolina Upstate, after a nationwide search. As dean, she is charged with leading the future of nursing education in the region and throughout South Carolina.

Dr. Lee previously served as an associate professor and associate dean of Academic Programs in the Loewenberg College of Nursing at the University of Memphis, a role she held since 2015. Dr. Lee was responsible for compliance, accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, development and improvement of programs, and support to students and faculty. She earned the University of Memphis Thomas Briggs Foundation Excellence in Teaching Award.

In addition, she has received numerous honors and awards throughout the years, including being named among the Top 100 Nurses in Memphis and Shelby County by Celebrate Nursing Inc.; the Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources Services Award from HRSA; the Igniting Excitement Teaching Award from the University of Memphis; and Most Outstanding African-American Student from the UTHSC College of Graduate Health Sciences.

Dr. Lee has teaching experience locally and abroad, including at the Baptist College of Health Sciences in Memphis and SanDa University in Shanghai China, where she was a visiting professor and guest lecturer at Jining Medical University.

Dr. Lee serves on the William T. Cashdollar Distinguished Visiting Professorship Program Committee for the UTHSC College of Nursing, and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Beta Theta at-large chapter and the American Nurses Association.
