2026 Outstanding Alumnus Award Winner
Dr. Stanley C. Thompson is the Chief Clinical Officer with TeamHealth’s Lifepoint Group, where he oversees the 72 contracts in emergency medicine, hospital medicine, and anesthesia within the Lifepoint Health and Scion Health Systems across the country. Dr. Thompson also serves as Teamhealth’s Chief Diversity Officer. He is also the medical director of the Northwest Mississippi Community College Paramedic Program, located in Senatobia, Mississippi.
Dr. Thompson earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis, Tennessee, and completed his residency in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Emergency Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Thompson earned his Masters in Healthcare Administration at Penn State University and a certificate of Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University.
As an active member of his medical community, Dr. Thompson serves as Past Chief of Staff at Baptist Hospital-Desoto in Southaven, Mississippi, and also served on the Metro Board of Directors for Baptist Memorial Healthcare Corporation. Dr. Thompson is also very active in his church, One Accord Ministries, where he serves as Executive Pastor/Chief Operating Officer and Chairman of the Board.
