2016 Distinguished Service to Pharmacy Award Winner
Tim Tucker, Pharm D, FAPhA, is the owner of City Drug Company in Huntingdon, Tennessee. He and his family celebrated 50 years of business in November 2015.
Dr. Tucker currently serves as Vice President of of the Accrediation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). He served on the American Pharmacist Association (APhA) Board of Trustees for 10 years, serving as president of APhA in 2008-09. Dr. Tucker served as Speaker of the House of the Tennessee Pharmacists Association for more than 10 years, president in 2000 and treasurer for several terms. Tucker served as a member of the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy from 1993-99 and as president in 1998.
Dr. Tucker graduated from the University of Tennessee College in Pharmacy in 1988 as a member of the inaugural all PharmD class. He continues to serve his university in several capacities, including as a member of the admissions committee for more than 20 years. Dr. Tucker is very involved in his community in several different organizations. He is finishing his 26th year as a member of the Huntingdon Town Council and also completing his first six-year term on the Huntingdon Special School District Board.
Dr. Tucker and his wife, Diane, recently celebrated 25 years of marriage. They have three boys: Will, 21, a senior at Union University; Matt, 19, a sophomore at Union University; and Jack, 16, a junior at Huntingdon High School.
